see a lot of people talking about sim free phones and getting there phone unlocked.
what are the benefits of this.youstill have to get a sim from a network and if a better offer comes along it means changing your number
so what do you gain from having a sim free (appart from been able to use it with curent contract avoidng upgrade fee) or unlocked phone

Well there are lots of benefits'
Use withany sim you like or even a twin sim to swop from one network to another,
When you sell the phone you can sell it to anyone, on any network,
I have an OVP Orange sim which is a contract but no monthly payments, so i keep the same number for ever with no monthly commitment, & when i want a new phone i don`t have to get a monthly contract, or pay an upgrade fee, i just buy a sim free phone & put my sim in it.
if i want to do a really mucky job like concreting or building work i just take my sim from my p800 & put it in a sim free Nokia 8210 slip it in my pocket & not worry about damaging it.
Also if you have a problem with a network for any reason, you are free to swop about, say in an area where your signal is bad.a different network sim could be a life saver.
You can "sim roam" when abroad (using a foreign sim).
PS. if you buy a contract o2 or Voda handset it`s normally sim free (unlocked).
