Whilst here on holiday in China, I picked on of these up. I thought I'd upload some pictures of it, and give my thoughts. I got the 8GB black version, which cost me 1999 Yuan (about £177). The 16GB model is 2500.

Although this is an iPhone clone, it's not your average Chinese knock-off. It's more sophisticated than that. The standard knock-offs are easy to spot by the dual SIM, 1.3mp camera and Chinese fonts used. What Chinese knock-off gives you a classy bag like this?

In the box you get the following:

- Phone
- Earphones
- Charger
- USB Cable
- Driver CD (With Microsoft Activesync; this phone uses Windows CE)
- Cleaning Cloth
- User Guide (Chinese only)

I won't go into too much detail here, as I don't have time. I'll list the pros and cons for now, then put some OS screenshots below.

Pros:

- The best sound I've EVER heard from a mobile phone. It has stereo speakers, and really really full sound. Also, this bad boy is LOUD. I used to think the N95 was loud, but this is twice as loud! There's no sound distortion, either.
- Replaceable battery. I bought a second battery with mine, although I haven't needed to use it yet, the battery life is very good.
- You can bluetooth files to/from the phone (are you listening, Apple?)
- 3.2mp camera with brightness control and zoom built in. The camera isn't bad at all. It records video, too.
- The phone is really light, but the build feels pretty good.
- Dedicated music button on the side of the phone. Press twice to skip tracks.
- Multitasking / background processes. Yay!

Cons:

- No 3G. This is because 3G still isn't a big thing here in China; it's just starting to take off.
- The firmware is Chinese (although it has English language too), meaning that when the keyboard appears, it's set to Chinese by default. A couple of clicks sorts this, but it can't be changed yet - a fix for this will come in the next firmware
- No App Store. However, Meizu has released an SDK, and people have already started making apps for the phone. There is a growing number of sites with available downloads, but they're mostly Chinese.
- Email is POP only. No push.

Okay, time for some screenshots.

The desktop:

The lock screen is cool; there are four icons at the bottom; unlock, contacts, phone, sms. Just drag any of these contacts into the middle of the scree and the phone will unlock and go into that screen:

The music player:

T9 is pretty good. Start typing and options appear at the top of the keyboard:

There is a really cool animation when the phone is plugged into the PC. Little blue bubbles float up to a sync icon in the middle of the screen:

Well, that's it for now. If anyone wants more information or images, post here and I'll do my best to oblige.
