I have had the K850 for almost two years now, and consider buying the C901, but which one takes the best pictures?

^^^ That doesn't mean anything... Both Sony and Samsung makes digital cameras...
And in the case of K850 and C901, C901 is clearly better... K850 has excessive noise reduction as well along with purple fringing and Pink Red's in most shots...

Anyways, back to the topic. Obviously you can take better pics with C901 than K850i.
K850 is already old and has lot of issues, so C901 is a worthy replacement IMO
