The software is basically the same (disregarding the arguably better audio quality), however, the hardware obviously is not. Difference include much better 8.1MP camera with AF, face and smile recognition; Wifi, GPS, bigger screen, stereo loudspeakers, a kickstand and playback control keys on the side.
The W995 is of course better, but I would suggest waiting a while until the Satio and the Aino get released, as they are even better.

Wait for newer models. Except the build quality I hardly gain anything compared to my old W910i. Moreover, it's way too expensive for the very few additionaly functions it adds to your 705. SE should seriously think about adding option to change to different font sizes in their OS if they are going for larger screens. I thought W995 looks rediculous with it HUGE fonts. I know I can change it but having it as an option will be cool like it's found in N-series phones from Nokia. Instead of seeing only 6 contacts at a time I can see more with slightly smaller fonts.

Sticker peeling off is a minor issue but isn't "that" much of a quality problem, though it is disconcerting since people pay a lot of money for their w995 (including me). SE just found ways of nickel-n-diming stuff and found it's easier (i.e. cheaper) to use stickers instead of stamping their brand name into the phone's metal plates!
Buy and use a clear plastic case to preserve the phone's casing.
There are some issues with the sliding mechanism and possible firmware issues as reported by some owners.
All sliding mechanisms have "some" wobbling since phone is literally moving on tiny rails but hopefully the construction build is sturdy for the life of the phone!!
Firmware issues need to be addressed, hopefully soon, by updates but firmware should be tested first BEFORE phone leaves factory anyway!
At least SE "admitted" to "issues" with their phones which doesn't do anyone any good with phone problems!
How they handle it will determine whether or not the company will succeed in business! Their image is obviously tarnished especially for such a relatively high profile phone company!
SE should put MORE money into and focus more on Quality Control instead of promotions of their products!!
People aren't that tolerant if problems persist and/or aren't "fixed" in a "timely manner" considering the premium price on SE phones!
