Demand a puk code from them. you can prove you are the original purchaser over the phone to them can`t you. WTF are they charging you for.

I think he meant the phone code-if he changed the standard 0000 he will have to pay for unlocking.
Regards!

No that is exactly what i think he meant, when you lock it by putting in the wrong code 3 times (i think it`s 3) you can get a "puk" code from the network, they tell you it when you give your acount number /user password ETC to prove who you are. it`s 8 digits & it takes 5 mins max. i`ve never heard of anyone being charged.

Isnt that only if you put the PIN for the SIM card in wrong.
If you have a security PIN on the phone and you lock that it cost to get it unlocked.
Trust me I have locked both my SIM (got the PUK for free from SP) and the phone cost me $45.00AUD to get it unlocked.

Well i can`t be sure in your countries, but i`ve locked phones before a few times, phone lock & sim locks & i`ve never parted with money to get them unlocked & i don`t know anyone who has, but maybe it`s the networks discresion.

Actually Pachy, the phone I locked (not SIM locked), was not on a contract so I didnt even ring my SP for it was nothing to do with them.
You might be right, if it is still on contract that might be covered by the SP, but I am not willing to try it out coz my local SE SP would take 4 days to unlock my T68i, they are idiots.
