Yo,

anyone know of this is any good?

I can upgrade at the end of the month and I likes the look of the i8910 for some reason...

Should i get one?

I'm on Orange so they don't do the Pixon12..

Cheers

well, ive had mine 3 weeks now and i'm incredibly happy with it. I would recommend getting it debrand'd. Its quick going through the menu's, probably the quickest phone ive ever had. . The screen has to be seen to be believed. The ability to just dump vids direct from torrents is awesome. Its played everything ive thrown at it. Avi, divX, Wmv, flv etc. Firmware updates are improving the handset overall. Out of the box, it just works. The amr audio codec that the device has out of the box has been replaced by aac (video recording audio). Samsung say they have alot of extra's to add to the hd via firmware updates. The video rec is excellent, 1280x720 @ 24fps, plus theres D1, 640x480 wide , etc. Pic wise, if find the cam to be excellent. Theres a built in panorama mode etc, and alot of settings for the cam..this is my first touch (s60 5th) but i gota say i'm really liking it. It just works. Hope this has helpd. Would type more, but bit stoned atm lol. Any q's ask away.

Sounds good, you say about fw updates? how do you do that? as I've never managed to update a sammy phone in the past!

I might get it and have a bash, it does look quite slick indeed...

Have a look at this site http://samsungi8910omnia.com/[....]msung-i8910-debrand-tutorial/. It appears that the Italians are getting the latest firmware first. If you debrand with the latest avaialble italian firmware from here, you can then get the very latest available from the Samsung PC suite, rather like nokias updater. The samsung does not have user data preservation though, so you will need to back up your data. I did mine 2 weeks ago....no problems, its a great handset but you really need to get rid of the Orange firmware ASAP . hope this helps.

Regards Craig
