well none of the 4 shutter sound choices sound nicely.

Anyone knows of any trick to silence the shutter sound?

Turn silent mode on prior to launching the camera application.

You're talking about W995 right? You can turn it off by selecting the "none" option in shutter sound. What firmware are you on?

Yup, you could use "none" option in setting>shutter sound.
If you didnt have that option, you could use customize_upgrade.xml script to add this function.

Mine is w995a, maybe that's why there's no "none" option in shutter sound.

Anyone has tried modifying customize_upgrade.xml to mute shutter sound successfully, on w995a?

I don't want it to become a $500 brick

Just replace any of those files in TPA/PRESET/SYSTEM/SOUND but make sure you convert the sound to correct sound format (mp4a aka AAC, 44.1 khz, 50kbps). Don't forget to rename the file from mp4a to 3gp.

camerashutter.3gp
camerashutter2.3gp
camerashutter3.3gp
camerashutter4.3gp

@steven
No...thats an old trick suitable on any a1 phone. In A2, there's no need to do that because none option was already there.
