OK Just updated my C905 to R1FA035 1205-9079 and I'm really happy with the changes.
However, last week I was able to take a photo and tag it with the location, upload the photos and see the location infor in the EXIF tags.
After this update it doesn't seem to put any location info into the EXIF tags at all.
After searching it seems it's the problem talked about here
http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=179734
Exactly the same issue, it's shows the location fine on the internal Google Map - but not anywhere else.
Is this firmware related? Seems it might be as it DID work on my phone, it now doesn't. But I can't rollback my phone to the previous version to get it working
Any ideas?
Are there any standalone photo apps which will add this information properly? I just want to be able to take a photo, for it to add the geotag in the EXIF location tags and save it. I'd even pay for this functionality! I know it should work already but clearly doesn't!

Google Picasa can read geotag photos and it can point to the location in Google Earth as well.
Here you go:

clearly he read your post, it's just u that doesnt understand what he says,
GPS tagged metadata cant simply be read by a normal image editor,
heck even FastStone Image Viewer couldnt read or show any geotagged data, but the rests like shutter speed, iso, camera make etc, the program can read them all..
Install that add-on on firefox,
it can works for both online and offline photos,
select a photo from your drive or simply right click any photo on firefox.

No - my point is the phone is NOT tagging the photos correctly.
There is no EXIF GPS data. I know how to view this.
The "geotagging" that is happening is placed in the XMP section as cell info. There is however no appropriate GPS EXIF tags embedded in the image.
I have photos I took with GPS data from the same phone but when using a different firmware - so I know what I should be expecting.
I'm not intersted in adding this information AFTER i've downloaded it off the phone. I can do that in 101 apps. I want the JPG on the phone to correclty have the GPS tags in the EXIF tags as it should. If I'm still not being clear about the problem read the link I posted.

FFS!!!
I don't have a problem VIEWING my EXIF tags.
The problem is the phone is not WRITING the tags correctly in the first place.

The coordinates are not stored in Exif tags, however, still within the file. Whichever EXIF reader program you use, it can't show the coordinates. Picasa can access this data in the JPEG files, it shows the coordinates.

I assume you are both now not understanding the problem on purpose because it's becoming tiresome.
Read the link I first posted to.
The phone, is NOT writing GPS coords into the JPEG file. Anywhere. in the EXIF or any other part. Viewing in picassa or any other program, (including looking at the raw data in a hex editor) shows that no GPS information is being written into the file.
There is the cellid information, which can be used to get an approximate location based on the network masts etc. There is NO GPS information being written though.
This is documented also in the other thread I linked to.
It's an issue with the phone NOT writing the GPS tags correctly. It's nothing to do with how I view them. I CANT view them, using any program, as they are not there to view.
I'm not sure how I can explain the problem any clearer.
Before my update, I could take a photo with tagging on, and in the EXIF tag there was the GPS data.
After the update, I take a photo with tagging on, and there is no EXIF tags there for the GPS data.
