Anyone else here been battling the Chrome 'Resolving Host' issue?
I think I cracked it tonight!
You have to enter the Primary and Secondary DNS and WINS addresses of your modem into your connection in the Network Connections part of your OS.
I've tried the 'untick DNS pre-fetching in the Chrome settings' advice to no avail but this (below) seems to work.
in Vista:
Start > Network > Organise > Properties > Internet options > Connections tab > [choose your connection] > Settings > Properties > Networking > select IPv4 > Properties > [enter DNS addresses] > Advanced > WINS > [enter WINS addresses] > OK everything to close > restart Chrome to apply new settings.
Hope this works for you too!

Haha!
Let's hope you never do strike the resolving host problem. It's the only blight on an absolutely outstanding piece of software, IMHO.
