I was wondering perhaps its a stupid question. But if Scotland goes independent and thats if, what is going to happen to all the networks masts up there? They cant be O2 UK or Vodafone UK no more so what will they be? Will Scotland buy them out and have their own networks or just do what happens in Ireland with Vodafone Ireland? Though i am Irish i have a Scottish surname of Burns. Perhaps they will have the Burns network LOL. Maybe not. Who has the best overall coverage up in Scotland? I had great coverage on Orange in Edinburgh when i visited. Not sure about the Highlands though.

it depends on the result of the referendum on independance.
most polls so far have been around 60/40% against.
i dont think o2,vodafone or any company with uk as part of their name would stop trading if scotland did become independant or if the SNP would barr the because of the name, though they did free a convicted mass murderer,so stanger thigs have happened..
coverage in scotland is what you would expect in any built up area but the further north and west the coverage gets patchier.

Yes indeed. I see your point. I know the networks would not cease trading but its just north of the border wont be UK so i guess it would be Vodafone Scotland or O2 Scotland. But it would be annoying living on the border and you would pick up a roaming signal from Scotland when still in England lol.

I think you will have to pay roaming rates in Scotland. You will have to get a visa to travel to Scotland. All scots will have passports. Berwick upon tweed will end up being part of Scotland once more and they may ask for the hadrians wall to be fully rebuilt anything north of the wall wi be Scotland. So hmmm lets wait and see lol.

Mmmm yes well a Visa to get into Scotland if they go independant? It will be too easy to get through the border i think. I cant see it happening for a long time if ever. At the moment Scotland gets tons of benefits as being part of the UK. Most of the benefits are being paid for by England the stupid goverment in London. I actually think Scotland wont be able to afford to keep giving them benefits to its people if it went its own way. Who knows. But as regards to the networks perhaps it will just carry on with the same networks but like Ireland with their own seperate infrastructure. Be wierd though if we had Scotland classed as roaming another country

I can imagine Scotland will be the next Dubai where the profit from its oil and gas can be kept in Scotland, the darn English keep nicking it. Suppose the Scots can also charge the English for all the water they take from us too!!!
