From CD. The Vista partiton is properly screwed up and I need to do a fresh install, but it says boot from CD and then does nothing no matter how long I leave it.
Any ideas how to get it too boot from CD again?
Cheers

Are you sure the CD works fine? Try another disc and see if it works.

Have you checked that your bios is set to read from the cd 1st? probs need to hit the F2 key or delete on startup (check for model) and see if the boot order is setup properly....cdrom-1st HD-floppy etc etc

Do you happen to have McAfee AV installed - had a vista laptop doing this recently and it was infected with the Ucad.sys virus which caused McAfee to recognise itself as a virus and hung on boot exactly like yours is doing.
I had to go in in safe mode, disable McAfee (dangerous) and then use various tools to get rid of the virus before re-enabling the AntiVirus.
BTW the Ucad.sys virus got in by the user clicking on one of those "your PC may be infected. Scan now?" popups.
