Hi all,

Been a long time coming but finally it is upgrade time...well for me at least. Having been quite content with my SE P1i however, I've not really been looking into the mobile world too much as of late and so am having quite a difficult time deciding which phone to get.

I'm currently on O2 but don't mind switching networks for a better deal. I've had my eye on the following:

Nokia N97
Blackberry Onyx (Bold 9700)
Palm Pre

And now recently the Xperia X2

My reservations however, of all those phones listed only the N97 is out, and it is likely that the N97 mini will be coming out soon as well. The others still have no solid UK release date or carrier information.

In terms of what I need the phone to do:
Push Email.
Ability to edit Office documents on the go.
Good multimedia capability, so as I can use it as a music player.
Fairly decent camera, I do not expect it to rival a digital camera as I'm fully aware of the limitations with phone cameras. But at the least I want it to have a camera that can produce decent wallpaper quality (as I do not print photos) day time shots and video.
The ability to multitask without fear of Ram shortages

Furthermore, I would also like the following, although these are by no means deal breakers:
Likely support from the manufacturer for the next 12 months at least (unlike the SE P1i).
Some form of App store would also be nice, as it seems to add an extra lease of life to the phone.
Fast common application use e.g. Messaging, Contacts etc (unlike the SE P1i)
Touchscreen and qwerty keyboard (although I can settle for T/S only if the virtual keyboard is good enough, in the case of the BB I think I can overlook the T/S...or if anyone has any news of a T/S + qwerty keyboard BB I'd be interested)

Well that is what I can think of right now, I'm sure you'll all have your own opinions and I'll be glad to listen to any and all. I'm sure that given my wants/needs I've over complicated things, but as I use the phone as a mini computer and also given the fact I'm paying a lot of money to get my hands on one of these on an 18 or 24month contract I need it to be durable and just work.

Cheers

There is nothing wrong with knowing what you want. I would suggest Satio to you. Available in october.

Thanks to both for the response, while it is true I never thought of the Satio, if it turns out to be a good device I'm not against it.

I do not feel any loyalty to any brand in particular in terms of mobile phones, I just want one that works.

My only reservation with getting another SE device is the fact that SE have a horrible habit, from what I understand, of rushing or delaying a device and then not bothering to try and fix any software issues it may have, meaning customers suffer as a result of this behaviour.

i was wondering if someone could do me a small favor as i am currently abroad and i am not allowed to view O2's online store due to the silly restriction of it only being available to UK ip addresses.

Basically I would like to know what new handsets they currently have listed and if possible what phones they have listed in their coming soon section, I'm not too sure how to find this section so I just use the search phrase "O2 coming soon" in Google and it should throw up the shops coming soon section.

Many thanks
