> Need convincing to buy a P800

Right, I love my T68i but all I need is a little convincing to by a P800,
I heard it has Video playback and real web browsing and its own operating software is this true?
If so will people be able to develop programs to enhance the p800 features? I heard some guy was developing video recording software.
How good is the speed and quality of the video, pics etc... I dont know about you guys but my T68i is quite slow reacting to general usage sometimes like turning off Keylock!!
I would appreciate responses from excited P800 owners!

If you could just hold the P800 on your own hand and feel it, you would know what other are talking about. This phone is awesome, I cannot find enough words to describe it. All my friends would always talk about it, they are all impressed and somewhat envy, sadly they are not willing to spend too much for a phone.
It's an all in one phone!!! You won't regret.

Ok, first up... yes it does have a proper OS, Symbian OS7 (Quartz 2.0) UIQ to be exact. Yes, there are already a lot of 3rd party apps out...most of them still in Beta stage, but a lot are very promising.
Video is 3GGP standard, mpeg4 15fps 160x120 (I think the P800 can handle a slightly larger res, of 175x144 or something like that)
Audio playback can be MP3, WAV, MIDI, AU, and something else (I forget)
Now for the bad side:
I used to own a T68, and yes, it is much bigger... it doesn't look it in the photos... but it feels it in your pocket... but then again, it does replace the huge wad of cash you will part with when you buy it...so no big deal!
One handed operation isn't it's strong side... even with the keypad. Of course it works fine... SMS, calling, typing notes, recording memos, and the camera can all be accessed w/ the flip closed... but it's not as easy as most people would want it to be. (My way is even harder, virtual flip only...I removed the flip all together)
Another, there is no fax capability... this might be a problem if you need to send/receive faxes. I'm a product of the digital age, so I never needed to send or receive faxes... I actually hate receiving faxes. On the plus side... email, MMS work perfectly on the P800!!! I actually enjoy checking my mail on my P800 more than on my PC!
Surfing is still a bit limited since the full browser wasn't finished in time for the release of the P800... Opera should be releasing the full browser once it's finished... either on Opera's site, or through SE.
The P800 is a bit larger than the 7650, but it is lighter w/o the flip. It's a LOT smaller than the upcoming 3650, and has a whole lot more power under the hood... the P800 is running a 200mHz ARM CPU, and a newer OS (7650 & 3650 are running Symbian OS6)
If you don't mind the size, or the price (around US$730 average price) and don't mind some of the current limitations; lack of apps (for now), and no fax..then it's THE best communicator on the market today.

I guess you could watch video clips of the footie results on your mobile! That's if there was a website that decided to put the video into mpeg format so we could visit the site and download goal clips, you could take the phone round the office and show everyone. Someone needs to start thinkng about doing that...........
I know what your thinking, that advert for 3G but I had a look at thier site

and you have to pay £50.00 a month line rental minimum to even access those phone services!

It's provided for by packetvideo.com These guys have amazing on-the-fly live compression to mpeg4!!!
There are 2 links in the P800 browser, both are traffic cams... one is a live cam in Times Square NYC, and the other is in the Paris Opera. I have to say it again... the video stream is amazingly smooth!!!! I mean I can see people walking and everything!!! It's almost as if it was locally stored on the phone!!!!
This is all done over plain old GPRS! (Which brings me back to my point that 3G is premature & way too expensive for services people aren't begging for)

@jplacson, u mentioned one hand operation on p800 is not its strong side, my question is, is it doable? can i text while driving or walking? i know that is not a smart thing to do but we know that sometimes you really have to text while driving, or you just have to respond to somthing impt,
