What's anyone's take on this? Now that Samsung has produced video in a mobile phone with high definition what's next? Do you think we are going to see high definition photos from future camera phones? Do you think lenses will be able to produce high definition photos from tiny mobile phone camera lenses? Would we have to see more protruding lenses on mobile phones if we want better quality?

Why not the first cameras were huge and as time passes people develop new things,bigger becomes smaller and better.there are already professional cameras with HD but very expensive. I really think that HD will be able first on medium (non professional) cameras and then off course on phone cameras.Just hope it will be on

first!

I'm afraid Samsung will be the first. Lets hope SE improves it, a bigger lens would be good first step.

Like high definition tv or video. Already there are cameras which take high definition pictures and video and i was wondering if some day mobile phones will be able to do this. Already there has been Samsung HD video on a phone but maybe someday pics too.

HD ( Full HD ) arenīt that a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels? In that case there have been "HD" still cam on our phones for many years now. Film in HD is basically many pics taken in a resolution who calls "HD" Ofcourse a phone who can film in HD also can snap a shot in "HD"
I dont understand what you mean with HD pictures? We already snap pics who have more pixles than the full "HD" resolution and have done so for many years. for example 5mp= 2592x1944 pixels 8mp= 3264x2448

Perhaps i am just getting myself mixed up here. Red faced oh well. Sorry i kept thinking when i seen HD digital cameras i thought they were at some sort of higher quality but then when you mentioned mega pixels i realised i was getting myself mixed up. Never mind.

HD is definitely the next move for camera phones. There is only so far one can go with the mega pixels, for instance are phone manufacturers going to make a 13, then a 15 then a 17 then a 20 mega pixel camera? I think not. I think that Samsung having gone HD will force others to do same.

@skblakee,
As pitzon pointed out, HD video is 1920x1080. What resolution is "HD photo"? Or are you talking about video?
