Global Energy drinks brand Red Bull looks set to release its brand new mobile phone network across Europe following its anticipated launch in Austria. In a mad-cap week for the mobile phone market which has seen two of the UKs leading service providers, Orange and Vodafone obtain rights to Apple iPhone handsets, there appears to be another head-turning announcement on the horizon. Energy drinks producers and F1 team sponsors, Red Bull are rumoured to be branching out in the mobile phone business.
Following the recent success of its F1 racing team this season, Red Bull is said to be readying the launch of Red Bull Mobile. A splash page of the UK version of Red Bull Mobile is already online, while the German version goes further in-depth into the handsets and network deals that are set for availability.
Some of the latest mobile phones on the market appear to be already available in Germany and Austria, with the Nokia 5730, Sony Ericsson C702, Sony Ericsson G705 and Red Bulls very own dedicated BH-1 handset named as the best-sellers on the Red Bull mobile network.
Red Bull appears to be following the same mobile phone network path as fellow business giants, Virgin with their exclusive networked SIM deals. However, they are likely to find it tough to break the power of the likes of Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile and O2. Austrian users are currently being offered two exclusive network tariffs, named simplyAll and simply All+, the latter offering 2,000 texts and minutes and up to 2GB of internet data transfer for 29 Euros.
The most attractive feature of the Red Bull Mobile network appears to be its online Portal. The Portal is branded as the ultimate tool for accessing news, interviews, weather, sports and downloads from the world of Red Bull and beyond.
There appears to be no current timescale for the release of Red Bulls Mobile services in the UK at present, but the growth of its plans in its homeland could see it arrive sooner rather than later.

Will customers get a set of wings when they sign up ?
Can just see their branding. Red/blue/silver with stick on or painted wings.
Although the brand symbol won't look as bad as the Orange,Vodafone etc logo's do.

with their strong financial status, Red Bull will never have to worry about the network infra, they can either build on their own or lease someone's else network backbone...
