> Streaming Music to Mono BT headset from K800i

Hi,
I've a mono bluetooth headset and was wondering if it is possible to stream music to it through my SE K800i phone. I know there is a software called BlueMusic that exists for Windows Mobile based PDAs. Is there any such software for java phones that allow playback of music through mono headsets?

I remember asking the same question to an SE service center head and he said it won't stream that much of data, voice is about as much data it could stream, but that was on a mono bt handsfree set from 2 years ago, dunno if they've made it possible for today's sets

You can't stream music to a mono headset because the headset only runs Headset Profile. You need a device with Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) to stream music and mono headsets aren't programmed with A2DP.

There should be some mono headsets that can stream music (heard one on 5800 nokia)... Anyway it is possible with some headsets but probably not the older ones. Also the sound was crappy... Useless imho...

Perhaps if you have a hacked firmware on a smartphone (S60 or UIQ) you can trick the Phone into thinking the music is a phone call but that would be obscure to find, difficult to implement and you're still listening in mono.
Better to buy an A2DP accessory.

If you can get a hold of a Jabra headset (like the 8040 or the 530) you can stream music to a single piece headset.
