Now that Aino is out, everyone's (myself included) excited with a fresh newly specced device from SE carrying a shiny new concept of Entertainment Unlimited. We all thought and knew from a couple of years ago that the pressures from the competition and from SE's own customers fell on their deaf ears. And suddenly a gleam of new hope, they appear to be 'interested' to get back in the game. But unfortunately judging from the largely discouraging user reviews I'm beginning to wonder if SE has left the game for so long and they forgot how it is played. Are we expecting too much? Are we nitpicking while getting used to the phone or does it actually represent SE's surviving lack of communication with the users?

From first glance most of the problems highlighted seems to be hardware related so fw updates might not remedy issues to some extent. Or are we still able to enjoy their offerings despite the shortcomings? These are my ponderings, your opinions are welcome

Neither. Personally I think Aino is great.

Too early to tell. No sales figures yet. I'll be watching out for them though.

Yeah, sales figures should be interesting. I was quite surprised at how cheap it is here. Is it cheap elsewhere?

Well, poor VGA framerate recording, games not playing smoothly and lesser than expected camera optics to name a few, all of which are multimedia qualities central to the notion of Entertainment. I love what they're attempting which should be commended for contributing to the diversity of the market. I'm just not up for another 'potentially' brilliant device by them and I'm kind of wondering is it exactly that?

@Muhammad-Oli
Yes, it's cheap here in Malaysia as well which is making it very tempting for me

/ Frame rates are very much software related.Games not playing smoothly? Where did you get that? And i love the Aino's camera. The samples i have seen are way better than my c905. But, tell me. Which of them are hardware related?

Apparently it doesn't handle vibrations in games well and does get stuck here and there. Can't find it to quote right now but i'm sure someone will verify it here. Of course framerates aren't purely software related, if it was, why wouldn't they have implemented it in, say, C905 when there was all that hype saying it was gonna have vga recording. And well, the camera is subjective, it doesn't necessarily apply to everyone but nevertheless, a hardware issue

It was me who wrote that, and I experienced it while testing a game I made myself (www.UkkosJourney.com), which I've tested on over 20 different phones/brands. The game halts for split seconds here and there on the Aino, while it doesn't on other devices. It's nothing crucial, but annoying nevertheless. I also think it takes much longer loading a game on the Aino compared to e.g. a K800 or W760. I definitely think the JavaME part should be improved.
Only Samsung U600 halts the game for a split-second too sometimes. Surely the Aino should do better than an old Samsung U600.
The game also halts for split-seconds when a vibrator is used yes. And not just my own game, but other games as well.

But I believe SE have made improvements to the JavaME part in other devices, so I think they'll fix this in next firmware as well.
