So, after waiting months for the Satio to be finally released, and receiving it today, I am pretty disappointed.
I selected all contacts on my current W960i to send to the Satio. It only recognises the first contact in the list.
I then tried to send the backup file with all contacts; again, it only recognises the first contact.
I can't see any obvious setting to change the sound settings, ie ring volume, message tone volume, etc, etc.
So, I tried to sync it with the PC, through the new SE suite from the SE site.
The suite asked me to download a Windows hotfix, so I did. The suite then tried to connect to the phone, but even though it detected the phone, it couldn't connect. I am using the provided DCU-65 USB cable.
I then tried a Bluetooth connection.
It paired up on the Bluetooth, and I authorised the PC to connect to the phone automatically.
The suite keeps connecting then immediately loses connection. This repeats over and over without any intervention from myself.
It seems this will be a long winded time with the Satio.
This is the only phone I waited to upgrade to, after a very successful, and flawless, 20 months with the W960i!
Just trying the odd other things, now.
Google maps seems to work well on the phone, and it found me a route to the Nurburgring. The satellite images are good, too. Looking at my own house, as it picked up my location pretty quickly.
Whoa, Google maps has actually located me exactly in my bedroom!
Shame I can't text any of my contacts to tell them!

I think I will!
Changing the theme from the Vodafone branding to the SE branding speeds the phone up. Changing it to 'basic' speeds it up even more.
After a bit more digging, I've found the volume settings...
When you choose profiles, you can select options and personalise the volume/sound file preferences of each profile!
Nice and obvious, then.

The thin you had happen with your contacts is normal. It happens on all Symbian handsets so its not a fault. On all the

P,M,W,G series symbian handsets you have to transfer your contacts one at a time. Another way is to find the backup file on your old phone and transfer it to your computer. Next make an entry in your contacts list on your new phone and back it up. Locate the backup file on your new phone and make a note of the name then delete it. Go back to you contact backup file on your computer and rename it to the one originally stored on your new phone. Then transfer it to your new phone. Select restore backup and all your contacts will be there on your new phone.

Congrats on getting a Satio. I'm quite keen to see if SE have got a serious contender to the iPhone here (I so want to jettison my iPhone for a decent SE smartphone).
Are you sure you're able to sync UIQ contacts straight to a S60 v5 contact list? I would use a go-between like MS Outlook to sync them.
The Bluetooth problem sounds like a driver issue. Are you running Windows 7? I can't get BT drivers for my G705 to work properly on W7 but no issue with Vista.

hey there you will find the editing of the volume thru profiles is the way of all s60 handsets and not just a quirk of the satio. The contacts from the w960 wont send all via the handset and this has always been the case when trying to send contacts from a sony ericsson handset to a non sony ericsson handset. This may be confusing as the satio is a SE handset but its os is s60 so its simply not compatible. I can see this would be frustrating for you as it was for me trying to transfer from my n97 which technically are 2 compatible devices but nokias switch software only works with nokias. Try using an n97 on version 10 software which required a hard reset every time you tried to add music or videos to its 32gig memory or when it decided to kill my 16gig memory card then you will love your satio. Hope you get your contact issue sorted soon i had to bite the bullet and send mine 1 by 1 but if yours is only taking the first line that wont help

@5H4K
sending contacts from SE to SE has never been a problem but remember that this time, SE is using nokia's S60. your problem seems like the same frustrating thing i had when i got an N97 and tried transferring contacts from my P1.
the best way to do it, which i did with my N97, was to use mobical, which you can access here:
https://www.mobical.net/
create an account, download the sync settings to your old phone and sync it, then do the same with your Satio, and presto! problem solved! or so i hope...
good luck!

Such complex solutions solved by gsm sim cards....
On your old phone, copy contacts to sim
Insert sim into satio
Retrieve contacts
???
Profit
(sorry, I just had to add that last bit

)

Hi Mate
Saw you also posted this on Vodafone forum haha.
I also had the same problem and it was driving me mad! Although what I did was sign up to Sony Ericsson’s Sync service, you can Sync one or more Handsets, so what i did was Sync my C905 to the website, and then from the website Sync it back to my Satio.
It took me a while to work it all out, but eventually it did work, and now all my contacts, bookmarks, calendar entries etc are now exactly the same as they were on my c905.
It's free to use, although it is still in beta mode so it's not perfect, and it may take you a while to sort things, but trust me you will get it working eventually, and anyway it will be alot quicker than sending them one by one!
