Well I must say that based on 2 days with the phone I'm torn. I've got it configured nicely and I'm happy with the general setup but there are some significant niggles which mean I may still return it.

1. Battery life - Absolutely awful. Fullly charged at 5pm last night. By 7am this morning it was down to a quarter. I had barely used it and nothing was running at all.

2. GPS - Very slow to get a lock outside . My N95 was almost instant, but this is taking up to 15 minutes.

3. 3.5 Jack, well lack of. It's a pain, the included adapter cable is long and just creates hassle. The location of the socket is also poor and means you can't use it with my car holder and most others.

4. Stability - Whilst it's not awful I've had 3 lock ups so far resulting in needing to remove the battery. Worse that that on day 1 I had to do a hard reset because one of the themes became corrupted. Selecting it sent the phone into meltdown and restarting it didn't solve the issue.

5. Signal strength - It's definitely far weaker than my previous phones. My house has always had a full strength signal with vodafone on various phones, I'm now stuck with a couple of bars.

As for the positives, as you would expect the camera is excellent. The screen is very nice and the phone just has a very nice feel to it but I'm really not sure that those factors justify the cost when balanced against the cons I've listed above.

I would love to hear from other people and see if they have similar issues.

Hi jetsetwilly.

I've just been reading the manual from the site.

Under Location Services and GPS it says that - The first time that you use the GPS, it may take up to ten minutes before your location is found.

Is this still the case?

The demos I have seen on Youtube show the GPS locating quite fast.

I have to say the gps on my Satio is lightning quick and alot faster than my c905. It's surprised me as well as GPS is only supposed to work outside with a clear view of the sky, and alot of the time on my Satio I can get a signal sat in the middle of a building no problem - even my Tom Tom can't do that.

Although I am still surprised about the Geo-Tagging, you can do it and set it to on, but yet there is no option to "view on map" like on the c905. I know people say you can use pc software to view the data, but not really the same is it?

One problem I am facing though, when i first loaded up the You Tube app, I accidently set the language to Spanish, and no matter how hard i look there seems to be no option to change it back! so everytime I search for something i get Spanish video's! anyone know where the option for this is?

@gregpot2000

Well that's good to hear about the gps. I'm coming from the C905 like you. What would you say has impressed you the most about Satio so far (my phones comes on Tuesday)?

Afraid the gps isn't getting any better and it's probably my biggest gripe. Once I finally got a lock today, it was of no use because it couldn't hold it. I've been trying google maps and Sygic maps 7 and both were effectively rendered useless.

Given the positive feedback from other people I guess it could be a faulty phone so I might go for a straight swap before abandoning the Satio.

The battery life on mine is more than my C905, I was using the phone on the web and talking all day long and by the end of the day had half a battery left.

Thought i'd share my experiences after my first week.

Battery life is not the greatest though better than the c905. I think forgetting to close applications is not helping that situation though, many times I have left my web browser running along with a few others.
Camera is top notch
No freezes as such.
Start up is longer than any phone i've had before.

My main gripe at the moment is mainly with Vodafone about taking the playNow app and FB app off and also messing up the application store and losing it. also seems SE have a lack of support with the phone not been listed on many sections of their own website.

So far its been a good experience, even my girlfriend enjoys using it and she is useless with phones,

sorry to hear ur having problems jetsetwilly... i've now had mine over 2 weeks and not experienced any of the symptons you have had.

Battery lasts 2 days with moderate internet and camera use. i've never had any freeze ups or hangs...

I'm running the latest vodafone firmware and using my O2 sim and signal is great, much better than my iPhone 3G would give me.

Make sure u r exiting programs properly, if they are still running in the background then the phone will be using more battery power and thus ur battery will deplete more quickly!
