This is my first post on this forum. I would very much appreciate your help, guys..

I have a Sony Ericsson K550i.. It's almost 2 years old now..

It's been acting up lately.. Now and then it acts in a very strange manner, and I would like to know if any of you have had similar problems with your phones (not just K550i model).

The problem is hard to describe. It feels like somoene else is controlling the phone OR the phone is controlling itself.

It jumps from one menu to another (say, from pictures to messaging, etc); it tries to dial numbers or send text messages; it changes settings; it shuts itself down... All this is being done instantenously...

Usually the problem goes on for an hour or two, and then everything goes back to normal. I always reinstall the software (using Sony Ericsson Upate Service software) and do master reset. That does not really help.. I am beginning to think that there is a problem with the phone itself... something electronically. What could that be??

This is an unlocked phone, which is not intended to be sold in the US market. So I cannot send it for repair.

Thank you!!!

Hi and welcome

It all looks like if it were being controlled over bluetooth. Is the bt on when this happens? Have you tried it without the m2 inserted?

Hi,
Thank you for your reply. Bluetooth is off. I never use it. What is m2?

I agree. Well, the phone is working now. It's just that my Select button (as of yesterday) needs some hard pressing to work.. At least I can use the round one, in the center.
