Hi everyone:
Today I wonder in a little thing. In k850i cells there is a little "hole" in the front-left side, it's just at the top where "Sony Ericsson" logo is. I just wonder what is the function of it. It's the sensor for Video call camera or something else?. I know there is a very silly and stupid question, but day to day I discover new thing about this phone.
Thank you to everyone that answer my questions.....
byeeee.

That is the screen's light sensor.
It's function is to control the amount of light the screen emits according to your surroundings. It works like this: if you're in broad daylight, the screen will get brighter, to be readable. In low light conditions, the screen will be less bright, because it's visible even with a small amount of light.
Test this by covering the sensor with your finger, and you'll notice the gradual dimming of the screen. Uncover the sensor and the screen will get brighter.

I don't know how modding the display driver would interfere with this function. I'm happy with it as it is.

Ohhh. Ok.

I know the following is nothing related to the original question, but instead of doing a new topic I will ask you. Can I dissasembly the phone and change the faceplates? For instante mine is velvet blue, but now I don't like so much...Could I do that or not?. Thank you....

Well, I'll try to help you with an answer, but opening another topic won't hurt either. Especially since my answer won't be as precise as you may expect.
I didn't disassemble my phone, but when a problem concerning cleaning the dust from under the camera cover came up in a discussion, I found out that only the face plates come out. So, the silver/blue exterior cannot be changed, as far as I know. But please, do ask for second opinions in a new topic.
