Well surely you have a debit or credit card, it's first month free if your makin new account to do that when it asks if you want to upgrade to gold click no and it offers you your first month free. Otherwise, it is 5 quid and called month to month, and if you only want it for 1 month only get it then cancel it

I did mean an xbox live code yes! And in answer to the statement, I have considered creating a new account but I would prefer to extend my original account. I do have a debit card but as far as I am aware it auto-updates your subscription until you phone up to stop so I would rather not be in that position if I forget where I will have paid £10 for two months when I could get 12 for £25 down the line. But I may well have to create a new account!
