If I buy a phone with Wi-Fi and connect it to my router will I get better signal? I get terrible signal where I live. Thanks.

If you mean better network signal, no, unless you have a UMA enabled handset, and your network utilises UMA, then yes

What I mean is if I buy a phone with wi-fi, say Samsung Jet, W705?. (I don't have a clue about utms and all that :S) Will I get better signal if i connect it to my router, i get terrible signal where i live.

depends on how close to router and how fast your connection is.
if you havea astrong signal with the router, then yes, probably better than 3g

NO
Calls and txt's are not sent by wifi, they are sent via the mobile network. To improve your mobile network coverage follow the link I posted.
If you have a smartphone with a Skype App then you can make calls via wifi and you can always send emails via wifi but not txt. As with everything, you can have what you want if you are willing to pay for it.

See my post above. It can be yes if you have a UMA enabled handset and your network supports UMA.
I have a BB8900 and it is on Orange UK and that is UMA enabled, so when I am at home or connected to a "Hotspot", I can make calls, send texts and browse via Wi-Fi
