> Creating Polyphonic ringsignals for P800

I've tried to create wav files to use as ringsignals on my P800 without any success.
Please, give me some advise how to do this !!
I want to use some real songs that I have on CD's as ringsignals.
If you have any tip on software to use for this purpose, Im happy for any suggestions.

I just use a CD sampler program, then send the file to p8 via BT. or you could go to any site with wavs download them to a file & send to p8 via ir/bt/cable/email. i think there is a site called "my wav.com" or similar, & the internet movie database

Most of what i want like stuff from Southpark or old records i have found in mp3 or wav on the internet, but if pushed i just sample the sound, Keep it short because my sampled stuff is high on mb size, then save to my desktop,the problems only seem to be 3 layer wavs which the p8 wont accept, but basically this rule applies, if you can hear it, & you can get it on your pc then you can send it to your p8.

22kHz, at 8-bit, mono, PCM format works well.
11kHz sounds a lot louder as a ring though.

ok ok ok! seems like the master has to say some words !!
first of all you need to know which song do you want to use as a ringtone ( i know that you already know ) !
second: download MP3 cutter from
www.download.com and install it. open the software ( it's a shareware ) and then search ( by clicking on the folder icon on the left side ) for the song you want and then cut it ( use the help button to get more explanations ). i mean cut the part you want to have as a ringtone. then save it by clicking on the right folder icon. save it as WAV and set it to fade at 1 sec before beginning and 1 sec fade at the ending.
third: the tricky part and nobody would have expected it. if you have windows then you're lucky. look for the audio recorder in windows and then change the samplerate to:
16'000Khz - 8Bit - Mono !! ( you can also use 16'000Khz - 8Bit - Stereo, but you need to increase the volume to hear it when you have it in your P800 )
and then save it again and it's done !!! i suggest that you only use a ringtone not longer than 30 sec cuz it really takes a lot of space even when you put it in the MSD!!
so if anybody wants a sample of some good wav files !! post your e-mail add!!

if your going to use MSWin Sound Recorder (Daredevil's tip
), it has a ‘radio quality’ preset you can use when you convert...
