Hi
I'm a K790 user and my phone has just celebrated its 3rd Birthday hehehehehe
really wanted to get a replacement soon was going for nokia but i dont like nokia themes and im not a S60 fan only phone for me in nokia range is the E71 but thats out and my choices are only two

leaning more towards W980 as i want a good pair of headphones that come with the phone cyber shots phones are not know for good headphones and memory so i get both with this, but i lose out on camera

C901 on the other hand has the best 5mp camera and the green heart phone is new with latest software


if you have any other sony ericsson phones in this price range do give me input

the only sad thing with C901 is the build quality.......it feels quite plastic, (yes, i've tried several times)


wish SE went back to W810 sturdy plastic material/design.

Er. My C901 certainly doesn't feel badly built. Infact its much better built than my 3 C902's and my 2 C905. Also. My C901 hasn't suffered from squeaky battery cover syndrome. Something the majority of SE phones develop eventually. I do admit the paint finish of the Greenheart is not as gone as the Silver, Black, Pink and Gold versions of the C901 but its still good and the phone also has a decent weight what with the internals being all metal.
Back on topic. I also own a W980 and the 2 big faults I found with the phone are the camera is positioned in an akward place and camera interface is very basic. The other thing is that you have to reload everything to the phone each time you reflash the firmware as the 8gb memory isn't on a seperate partition unlike the W960 for example. I would also suggest you look at the W508 as is a much better phone over the W980 imo. Granted you won't get the headphones of the W980 but you get removable memory and decent headphones are easy to get seperate.

seems Green Heart does not have good paint job
guess its the water based environmentally friendly paint thats letting it down.

plastic built quality which cracks easely is one of the reasons i still have my K790 its taken so much beating but is still strong and in one piece

Another C901 user. C901 has metal inner casing so it is very firm. I had squeaky battery cover several times and it lasted for a day max when opening it quite often (modifying the phone) during the first weeks of use. After 2-3 months of use it doesn't squeak ever now. I don't know much about W980 but you certainly won't regret buying a C901.

And where exactly can one get the C901 Greenheart in the UK for example?
I;m eyeing one myself.
It was announced as "Coming Soon" in the UK Official E-shop, but it is nowhere to be found there now (it or Naite for that matter).

Play.com has had it listed as "Coming Soon" for ages....

BTW, possible paint peeling troubles are worrying , maybe they decided to address this (and other) issue(s) before finaly releasing it into the wild.

it was meant to be coming out 2 months ago, then last month. so no idea when it will come out, but it might not be until the end of the year... im waiting with u ill be getting k800i to cheer me up until it comes onto the market. my bet is that it will much too expensive for me to buy anyway, 200 + for me i think is maddness for a phone. best waiting until price drops and get a very cheap but new one.
