I have just bought this phone (second hand) It was under a pay as you go orange but not branded.
The GPS programs on it are locations, google maps and wisepilot. I have since installed Garmin XT.
All the programs work fine (although not completed the trial with wisepilot, because of the following), except none of the programs are getting GPS signals. google receives AGPA from the mast but nothing else.

I have sat outside, with no blockages to the sky, good weather, bad weather and for at least 10 minutes with no joy. Locations eventually reads no connection. Whilst useing location you can see an icon showing a satellite, next to the signal strength but still nothing.

I have the latest update installed.

Am i missing something? I know on my N82 to set up i had to fiiddle with the GPS menu, but i cant seem to find one on he phone, is it permanenly on?

This 'seems' to be the only prob i have, yet one of the most required features i need.

Any help is apprecaited...thanks

Go to location, GPS data, position, then press options and show satellite status. If there is no option like that there, it means u have no satt. signal. It is okay if u r inside but if it is outside that there is something wrong. My satio usually get connected to GPS after it has like 8 satellites (1-2min). Then it works great. (with Ndrive, garmin, sygic). I do not use aGPS.

Try a factory reset then use sygic or ndrive these both work sweet on my satio, also if you hack your phone with Helloox2 you can use ovi maps from nokia.

OK sorted but to help others out...

I never mentioned about how many satellites etc...because there was 'no connection'...there were no satellites...at least what it could see.
I did complete all the go locations, positioning etc as mentioned no apps worked

However my resolve was to hook up with the PC Suite and do a repair, which in turn formatted and cleaned the Satio. It remembered my GarminXT and worked straight away there after.
But be warned you will loose all your settings and phone contacts etc...it cleans the phone

Hope this helps...but thanks for the replies

Agree, and I find Nokia Maps to work best on my Satio. Just hack your phone to be able to install Nokia Maps, then google how to transfer maps without Nokia Map Loader (since Map Loader wont recognize your phone because its a Sony Ericsson). Nokia Maps is just brilliant!

100% agree, nothing can beat ndrive atm. if u need topo-maps, garmin wins the fight tho.

A question for Nokia Maps users: how do you change map to Satellite view? I could do it once but now the option is gone... Reinstalling didn't help :s
