> How To Display Contact Names?
Bookmark topic
When im receiving text messages it displays the number rather than the contact name i have received it from so im not sure who it is,
it there anyway to change this so that it displays the contact name when i receive a text message?
Thanks in advance
All my contacts are saved in the phone, ive tried saving them both in the phone and the Sim, but no different.
The app shows the message instantly on the main screen with the sender name but when i actually go into the message it still shows the senders number,

Welcome to Esato!
Strange. When I receive a message, it displays the name not the number.

May be you have different names on Phone contacts and SIM card ...
Delete your phone contacts and copy again from SIM (Menu > Contacts > New contact > Options > Advanced > Copy from SIM > Copy all).

maybe am asking u to do a lill too much but when i re-installed my firmware using SEUS, some of the wierd problems got solved. for eg. my first video that i try to play using the media menu always ends up in an error, i was not able to define the access point for all the web related services (even if my wifi was on, it said that there was no connection present).
now my phone is all good. i was able to get back all the contact and sms and calendar entries etc etc using the restore option in file manager. however i did no restore the 'settings'.
maybe u could try reinstalling the firmware.....
