are there any GPS programs that don't require an internet or data connection from the phone for them to work, something that stores the location maps on the device and doesn't need to connect to servers etc

Checkout sygic or ndrive, atleast ndrive works very well with satio

Ovi maps works but problem is you need to first download the map by going over the location on the app then you can go offline.

I have wifi in my house so I've pritty much downloaded all the places I visit regularly so I can switch to offline mode and it works fine.

It should work fine with Satio. As it runs on the same platform (Symbian S60 V5) as several other Nokia phones, the program support should be the same. Imo, it will run the software for S60 V5 without problems...

Garmin is the best solution since has the voice navigation and takes you to the point A to point B. Trekbuddy just worksto show your location in a offline map, but that's it.
