Sony Ericsson Gains Contract Share Following Release of Satio and Aino

The launch of Sony Ericsson’s Satio handset has seen the manufacturer’s contract share grow from 17% to 25% in recent weeks.

Sources close to the manufacturer said that overall share, which had fallen dramatically over recent months, had also increased from 15% to 19%.

In October, Mobile reported Sony Ericsson’s share had fallen from around 21% to 15% over the course of 2009.

The news coincided with the release of the Satio (pictured) on 8 October and the Aino, which was launched the following week.

Sources at Sony Ericsson had said the manufacturer was placing its hopes on the Satio to claw back share after a slow first six months in 2009, with only one significant release, the W995.

Meh, doesnt really mean anything, the C905 pushed sony ericssons positon in the UK to number 1 and look how that year turned out. SE has always had a stronghold in the UK so it comes as no suprise, if it was in the whole of europe or asia etc it would be good.
