Hi,

I'm thinking of buying my wife a Sony Ericsson W995 or the AINO but wanted to know a few things
with regards to their functionality and features:

1. Are you able to install 3rd-party applications such as Google Maps, Google Latitude,
Facebook, Windows Live Messenger (MSN Messenger)?

2. Is it possible to sync the phone's calendar with Microsoft Outlook, either via a cable or over-the-air?

3. Do the phones support POP email (push mail)?

I would be grateful for any kind feedback or "real world" experiences in using the above features

Many Thanks!

Chiswick.

If those are the main features you're after then you might be better off with an iPhone or waiting for the X10.

Email client and contact lists are pretty primitive on the W995 compared to the iPhone and the SE Timescape app may be even better still. No need to mention the Apple App store and let's face it, Java apps are toys compared to smartphone apps. I'm a feature-phone fanboy from way back but it's time to move on to the new generation of phones. Aino is the bare minimum worth considering for a serious user who wants to stay connected in 2009.

Get the W995 if you want only to do call/txt/take photos. That still covers many people.
