Somewhere on this forum people where asking about the backup through PC not being able to backup settings etc which is true of course, which means if you do a master/factory reset you loose all the settings you added, well I think ir you use the backup facility provided on the phone this will also backup setting as it is included, go to the internal file manager and select backup, if anyone has tried this I'd like to know what settings are included like email and general profile configurations etc.

it does the basics! contacts, book marks , mail, sms, apps
but not the details, e.g. selected themes, backdrops, mods to the wifi incl keys and access points etc.. I don't think it even backed up my 'notes'
tbh - it's best to keep a running log of any changes (apps, settings) to a device like this.
So really just just think of it as doing the basics.. which sometimes is enough to get you up and running again

If you sign up to the SE Beta ... it'll sync your notes for you there and the calendar, contacts there... just not your sms, emails, bookmarks and settings

Oh well using a combo of the two and you'll get something

Not "strictly" true .... the backup has "tick" boxes for :-
All
Settings
Messages
Contacts
Calendar entries
Bookmarks
Files
The "beta" ota sync from SE does backup your notes and tasks ... so between the embedded
onboard backup and SE's sync we should (!!!!) have everything covered.
I did a master reset on mine and then restored the settings as a check and all was back to
how it was before so happy that it does "What is sys on the tin"

that is good to here, albeit a bit of a runaround, handier still is that PC suite does notes, so backup all on pc suite and just messages - settings - files on the phone covers the lot, not sure what files means though, perhaps just on phone memory.

Hmmm aren't the things I listed the same
Also I mentioned SE syncs for covering Notes.
From the backup (old satio)/restore (new satio) process I found that my wifi settings were lost and my theme settings/backgrounds, font size settings all were NOT restored. I didn't have any remote drives created at the time either so I wonder if those settings are saved.
Which is why I now make a list of details changed.

I've experienced the 'SE Beta sync' doing odd things to my contacts list.. like stripping off caller photos and making the contact details not visible when viewing them on the web. Just make note if it starts to send your contacts back down to the phone when you're doing a sync (to your existing phone) it may of altered your contacts.

search for the folder Mail2 and save it on your pc.
Inside that folder there are all messages
