Please help. My new c902 flashed to latest firmware for some reason is not picking up HSDPA. I get normal 3G. Whats strange is previously when i had my c510 that always picked up HSDPA on Orange in my area but not with c902. Yet the signal on the c902 is stronger than the c510. I get it everywhere else but not my area yet i know i have HSDPA on Orange where i live as its the best network where i live. Its a brand new sim free phone and i never picked it up even before flashing to latest firmware. Are some phones better at picking up HSDPA than others? Help

I'm sure it's because you have a branded firmware, which may not be a latest version prior to the generic firmware. In older firmwares, the phone would show 3G even if it is HSDPA network. Well in short, it just didn't have the "H" icon.

No my phone is sim free from Carphonewarehouse but with Orange sim of my own. I have picked up HSDPA with every other Sony Ericsson i have had in my area on Orange except this one. Strange. No its definately sim free not branded. Great phone except that. Browsing is lightning fast though

My W995 rarely pics up HSDPA unless I'm connected to the net where it'll automatically detect the fastest network. In fact it sometimes falls back to 3G and the internet icon greys out, severing data transfer until it reconnects to HSDPA again. I'm not sure whether it's the phone or a network provider thing but perhaps your C902 works this way too. It's quite irritating though when 3G kicks in and data connection is suspended until the 3.5G signal comes back

Yeah i just find it strange when all my previous phones picked it up in my area on same network. But either way pages load lightning fast on Orange on normal 3G with this phone but i just find it a bit odd.
