Hey there, I have read a lot about setting up yahoo mail on the t68i. I tried doing it, using the ip adresses and the normal address'. I have also made sure that my account has been changed so it can be retrived by POP. The trouble is, my yahoo email is @yahoo.co.uk, so does the ip address need to be changed? When i press send & recieve it says finding server for a long time. How long does it normally take to check the emails?
Thanks for your time!

The IP address you found for the servers do NOT need to be changed, I have a yahoo.co.uk address and it works for me.
Just to confirm...
Incoming = 216.136.173.10
Outgoing = 216.136.173.12
Plus it won't work if you a trying to access it across a GPRS WAP connection (at least I know it doesn't for me on O2 in the UK) You need to do it across a standard dialup WAP connection.

Thanks, but how long does it normally take for your phone to get your emails downloaded?

It will work across GPRS on Vodafone UK. Make sure you use the correct APN setting for email and internet (different to WAP).

Cophia is right... GPRS should work, but most providers have a differnet APN for data than they do for WAP. (ie. T-Mobile in US uses wap.voicestream.com for wap and internet2.voicestream.com for data)
Note that you will most likely not be able to send email through yahoo's smtp server because for some unknown reason the t68i doesn't support smtp authentication (which you need for 99% of smtp servers out there.)
My suggestion though is if your phone and subscription does support MMS then it is easiest to write your emails in the MMS editor (a LOT faster then the email editor in the phone plus you get more attachment options). There is no difference other then the From: field in the received email. Trust me it's a lot better.
oops... one thing I might want to add is that in Europe I noticed that providers charge extra for MMS (above the GPRS data rate, a ripoff if you ask me) so be carefull and check your subscription!
Good luck

For me, I use the standard dialup wap and I can use both Yahoo's incoming and outgoing server to send and receive. No need to mess around with anyone else's.
Plus, how long it takes to download emails will depend on a few things...
Firstly, if you have set it to only download headers first (just the subject line and a few other details) so that when you find one you are interested it and click on it, only then will it download the actual message of that email.
Or if you have set it to download headers and messages then when you get it to "Send and Receive" it will obviously take longer since it is downloading everything in one go.
Secondly, speed also depends on which connection type your are using, either dialup wap or GPRS wap (GPRS is faster)
Lastly, and this should be pretty obvious really, it depends on the sizes the emails, and the number of emails, that you have ready to download. Therefore lots of large emails is going to take a lot more time to download than just downloading a single email with one line of text.

I use yahoo on my orange t68i. I foot use the ip i use pop.mail.yahoo.com . I have read here that i won't work but it does work fine. Also sending via auth smtp works fine. Connection to server depends on how good the signal is. But it DOES work :-D

Besides, it makes more sense to use the full url rather than the numbers cos he yahoo move their server you won't have to change your settings
