If you have removed the film that came with your Satio, how is your screen taking the daily grind?
I guess it's best to rate it from 1-10, ten being perfect and 1 looking like a web of fine scratches.

I replaced the film with InvisibleSHIELD.
It was without protection for about 2 weeks and survive pretty well in my trouser pocket. Only noticed some small scuff marks on the plastic casing. No damage to the screen.
Is the screen glass or plastic?
Have had other resistive touch screen phones and they were easy to scratch

I have never used screen protectors or cases for any mobile phone I have owned. The protective film has a tendency to become scratched and ugly very soon, and any kinds of cases only makes the phone bigger and in some cases some buttons or functions become unavailable. If the phone really needs a protective film or a protective case in order to continue funcitoning, it's too weakly designed to begin with. I don't mind a few battle scars on my phone, that only shows that I have used it. If you want a phone in mint condition, why don't leave it in the box it came in and not use it? Besides, when the scratches have become too many, that is one extra reason to buy a new phone in a couple of years
The screen is made of some kind of acrylic glass, or hard plastic, at least that's what it "feels" like. Unlike the Iphone, it's not glass, so it does survive drops to the floor from modest heights or if you accidentaly sit on it having it in your back pocket of your trousers. It's very scratch resistant, and I have not a single scratch on it after a month's usage. There are other things that makes the screen looking bad, like grease and dirt from by fingers, even though that is easily polished off with a piece of cloth or a computer screen cleaning tissue.

but it is still much better to put screen protectors on your expensive phone. if it had become dull and ugly it can easily be replace and it's cheap. you can't say otherwise to unprotected display.

So far after 2 weeks of use without the screen protector. I didnt notice any scratches, maybe because i baby the hell out of it. Now i got on invisibleshield, it's good and all, but does anyone have any other display screen protector to suggest? Using invisibleshield on the screen kind of bothers me because of how it's not as smooth.

I left the original protection on for the 1st two weeks, have been using it ever since without and it has no marks or scratches.
Screen seems pretty resilient without.

left the original protection in its place as it is not creating any problem for me. Initially thought the touch sensitivity was hindered due to that. But after RICA... firmware update found that the protective film is not an issue and after more than a month's use, the film has no scratches too. So happy to leave it for now.

this is my big worry with the satio, the screen, not from scratches but from getting a knock while in my pocket, i purposely put it in my pocket with the scren facing my leg. Someone mentioned the iphone above and how robust they thought it was......well do a search "iphone broken screen" and you will unfold an issue that has plagued the iphone from launch, the screens cracked and smashed too easyily and was expensive to replace (near enough the cost of the whole thing) there have been several topics on various sites on how to replace the glass on its own and ebay sells them but not easy to do.

I have an iPhone 3GS too, but use it mainly as internet tablet and ipod. I have a plastic case but no screen protector and it has survived very well so far.
Fingers crossed I don't seriously damage the screen on it.
