Many years ago when the cellphone madness began i knew which cellphone was the best for me or anyone else.
Having had every Ericsson since the T28s (owend half of every Ericsson ever build) and owned almost every SE. Owned a few LG's, Motorola's en Nokia's aswell.

Right now i have no idea what to buy. Right now i've got 2 cheap phones because its been more then a year that i've had no clue what to buy. Right now i own a T650 and E63

What am i looking for? A combination of things actually.
I want the same feeling i had since buying the T68m (i was one of the first)
The excitement of a P800 (again i was one of the first)
The amazing feeling of a good cam (W800 blew my mind for being a cellphone)
The simple yet powerfull looks of a M600/610/P910
I always loved UIQ, sadly they are gone. The symbian version i have on the E63 feels so basic, my old M600/610 could do much better things in terms of agenda.

I've thought of the Satio, but SE's reputation has gone down (build quality and software problems), and i'm not sure about its batterylife and its touchscreen (i write alot of text)
N97 looks like a cheap phone from china made for kids under 5. Yet it packs alot of things, has a nice keyboard (haven't(tested it yet), but i read symbian isn't really up to date in terms of touch UI compaired to others.
Blackberry seem like boring devices, as does the iphone, it has no soul, not to mention a decent cam.
Windows mobile, feels like half a solution, screens limited to 65k, typical windows (always problems, always in need up updates). X2 feels ok, but not that great.
Normal SE UI is great i would choose it about the basic symbian which is have on the E63, but it feels limited and boring. The anio looks good, but the touchscreen is so useless and the price is way to high. And again how does the battery life up, with such a big screen.

So many phones out their, but i've got no idea at all, hope you guys can guide me.

You didn't mentioned android. Don't you like it or you skipped it?

This OS seems it's doing good yet it hasn't showed all its power. Haven't you thought of the Sony Ericsson X10 or HTC HD2?

HTC Hero, Nokia N97mini, Nokia X6, Nokia N86, Nokia 6303, SE X10 and Samsung Omnia Hd. May be these phones can brings something new to you. I advice you to first study littlebit about these and then pick one.

HD is WM again the screen is the biggest drawback, as is the price. But at least its got a good CPU
X10 again the screen, and version 1.6 thats just out of date these days. To be honest i don't feel anything for android, it feels like just another OS, same as the N900. It all sounds promising, but they are quite new to the market, and Rome wasn't build in one day.
All the other nokia's mentioned or a step down from the N97 in terms of specs.
Samsung is a brand i'll never buy. Its a company thats not playing by the rules, several high placed employees have been known to support communism and curtain terrorist groups. Don't believe this, try to find the really news on the web, not the one thats filtered.

the days of feeling like you did when you first got the t68m are over. so get use to it..yes were all impress'd that you were 'one of the first' to own certain handsets. well done. congratulations. etc. the old days are gone..never to come back..prioritize whats most important to you in a handset..go from there..

Motorola are you crazy? Nothing in my house comes from the US or a US company (except coca cola).
And even if i look at the droid from an objective view its not worth its money. Besides Moto phones aren't sold in my country.

hmm prioritize how about a phone with a soul? Oh yea they don't make that anymore

That's the problem. They(companies) have made us want super phones. I remember when we were happy with 2mp, several megabyte of internal memory and the ability to have memory sticks. Yes, I mean k750, w800 and w810.

Yea those were the last great SE phones.
Super phones, hmm when you look back at the old threads about us wishing how the future would be. You can see that some of us still don't have their ideal phone out on the market.
But some basic things have yet to improve, like battery performance and water/dust resistance.
Futuristic wishes of a mobile projector, full voice control are still a dream 2 far away.

Maby the iphone hype made us all feel "normal" everybody has a smartphone these days, people aren't amazed anymore. The soul of the mobile phone has died on us
