Hi guys!
I just got a new w995 after a lot of "asking-around-on-forums".
Well, there's no problems with the performance or anything, the only problem is the slider.
It wobbles very, very much. I haven't dropped it a single time, it was like this when i took it out of the box.
The thing that annoys me is that when i slide the numberpad out, the display part wobbles EXTREMELY much.
And one of the smaller problems is when the slider is closed, you can move the display part a little bit to the right. It's really annoying when taking photos. And the smallest problem is that the battery cover feels unstable. When you press it it makes a annoying sound and...Yeah, basically: It's annoying.
I would like to return my w995, but i have applied InvisibleSHIELD Full Body Protection on it. It was pretty expensive(29$).
And i would like to keep it, but you can't re-apply the InvisibleSHIELD
Well, guys, what do you think?
Should i return it, send it to a service center or keep it? Im really quite shaken up these days, i was in a car accident 26/12, have a lot of paperwork to do. And the car will probably not work again
Damned unresponsible drivers that Hit'n'run
...
Well anyway...
All answers are appreciated!
And!
Have a Happy New Year
/Jonas

Hi Jonas, sorry about the accident. My W995 wobbles, but not near as much as you describe. Think how much would it cost to repair the phone (unless its covered) and reevaluate the possibility of sending it for an exchange and buying another cover. If the repairing costs are reasonable and they give you warranty, then go for the repairing. I would not keep the phone as it is as it could get worst with time.

I have had my phone since early october, I have noticed some play in the slider, but not enough to send it for repair. To be honest alot of phones out there seem to be the same, including samsung and nokia. I think there is a 2 year warranty on my W995 so if it gets to the point where it is annoying I will send it off, but for now its no problem, my phone moves approx 1-2 mm when open, about 1mm when closed.

By wobble do you mean it wobbles while it's performing its task as a phone or while applying pressure to test it? If it's the latter it wouldn't be fair to any slider manufacturer since no slider I know is that sturdy. Mine moves with pressure but absolutely solid for normal use.

Hi! I don't need to apply any pressure. That makes it even more annoying
@lightspeed: do I have to pay? It was like this when I took it out of the box...

Hi Jonas, it all depends on your provider, the company you bought the phone from... In my case i have 1 year warranty, so repairs would have no cost to me, unless the warranty does not cover a specific issue.
So, you should call them and ask about their repair/exchange policy...
Let us know how it went with your call...

Just sent an email to the shop where I bought my w995. They said that I could send it back for service. But I'm going to Malta tomorrow, so ill probably do it later
