Is it possible for Satio to have Kinetic Scrolling in the future?
I've heard from several sources that Nokia planned to integrate the feature into their Symbian phone in the nearly future.
So, what about Satio?

has a policy of not adding features to phones after release. So I doubt it very much unless it's done by some 3rd party mod.

Let's wait and see.
I'm using Opera 10 which have kinetic scrolling.
Other things in U1 are a little bit strange. Once it's kinetic (Media) and once it is not (contacts).
It is paranoic: Use your finger than bar and again finger and again bar... SE please: decide on something!

Not having kinetic scrolling in contacts is really bothering me, it's hard for me to get to contact i want with the sidebar. And the first letter search is messed up on mines.

What piss me of is that they should had put Kinnetic scrolling on contacts and not on media (at least not the way the done it). I mean that for a multimedia phone is a pain in the a** to browse songs if you have a lot of it... and on contacts this should be no problem because i think most of the people only have about 100-300 contacts. This is one of the reasons why i say SE screw S60 and i cant wait to see these new symbian OS that nokia says that will improve very much user experience and speed... when they done it bye bye satio

SE can sometimes add new features (they've done it since the T68 and more recently with the C905 and W995), but they've stated they don't intend to update the Satio.
That said, this was in relation to a question about whether they'd give the Satio the new media functions being introduced on the Xperia X10 and future models, so it doesn't totally rule out smaller updates (kinetic scrolling would appear to be part of the latest Symbian build and not just for Nokia devices - hence Samsung introducing it this quarter on the I8910/Omnia HD).
It's all going to come down to whether SE wants the positive PR they'll get from it. When the U5 comes out, there are going to be lots of people rather angry that this may have a newer version of the OS and applications. No, we shouldn't expect it - but adding new features is something that many manufacturers now do (Apple in particular, but now Nokia and many WinMo/Android devices also get OS updates). SE should really be trying hard to restore its tarnished reputation, so fingers crossed.
When the I8910 HD gets the upgrade, that will definitely put added pressure on SE.

Opera Mobila 10's scrolling is not exactly kinetic if you notice it closely. It does some slow scrolling and then comes to a stop even if you do not flick.
On SE's own theme if you look at Favourites tab, it contains kinetic scrolling but not that friendly. Sometime while scrolling it opens up the calling feature as if you have touched/selected it intentionally.
So what I want to conclude is that it is not down to adding new features, but down to activating the features which are available in SE default theme and Media menu.
Also, having sidebar on contacts or SE's magic search feature (like W980 where you key in a number or name, it brings up the matching contacts) is a good feature which will defintely help in quick search of contacts or songs.

One day, my firend bought Nokia X6 16GB. It's very nice touch screen, especially it's kinetic scrolling in contact list, menu list and gallery list. I love Sony Ericsson Satio but i can not think that my satio is not included Kinetic Scrolling. Nokia X6 and SE Satio is setup difference hardware. Satio's hardware is better than x6. That, Why not include Kinetic Scrolling in Satio?
Dear all member, pls let together request to SonyEricsson Support Centre for this case (kinetic scrolling).

Please don't. I hate kinetic scrolling. I prefer SE method for fast scrolling over kinetic scrolling (see my thread with Satio tips -
Fast Scrolling-

What people refuse to accept, just because you like kinetic scrolling doesn't mean everyone does. Perhaps SE left kinetic scrolling out because their research indicated that overall it was a feature that wasn't wanted.
Fast scrolling works better than kinetic scrolling imho - easier to control.
