I went to see Avatar yesterday and just had a question about the 3D glasses that were supplied to watch the movie does anyone know if it can be used to watch any web based 3D movies or are the glasses for cinema only?

No because we tried them at home on a 3D dvd that my neighbour had. It never worked. Some 3D films are different from each other. My neighbour has The Polar Express on 3D dvd and it comes with its own glasses but the pair from the cinema never gave same effect.

I already have, they don't unfortunately!
youtube 3D video's seem to be designed for the old style red-blue lens 3D glasses

What?! Can you keep the glasses? We're not allowed to keep them after watching it.

Did you see channel 4 before christmas? They did that whole week of 3D stuff it was rubbish. All that old red and green crap which never looked remotely 3D.

Yes i did watch some bits of it but thought it was terrible so decided not to in the end it was basically the same sort of low tech 3D visuals we used to get in comics as kids very poor.

there's 2 types of 3D glasses,
Red/Cyan
Green/Magenta
You cannot use one set for the other and vica versa.. they need to standardise the formula before the roll it out mass market.
