the official update software says thre's an update available for my c905a phone (debranded using davinci). is it safe to update since it's a hacked firmware? would updating put more locks on my phone making it harder to customize with a2uploader or FAR manager?

There won't be any problem trying to update your phone using SEUS. It won't unlock your phone back as it was a permanent unlock. Customizing the phone with A2Uploader is easy as 1-2-3.
