Yes, Vivaz is like Satio. they both run on Symbian OS 5th edition. It's just that Vivaz has faster processor. video recording in high definition and it is more compact than Satio

video recording in Satio is not bad either, Vivaz just had higher resolution..and Vivaz might be cheaper than Satio when it comes out

Yes, Sony Ericsson does generally push out updates for their products every two months or so during the first year the product has been released.

Better go to a store and try one yourself because you will fell a lot diference between iphone and satio (UI and screen is better on iphone), but if you want only a good camara go for satio.
Its not only for the camara itself but mostly because of the xenon flash... For indoor and night photos this is the only way to go. I made a test with my satio and omnia hd. On the outside with daylight even wirh only 8mp omnia hd pictures look a little better than satio ... but at night or indoors satio wins 5-0.

There have been many complaints about the Satio, and it may appear, readings forums like Esato, that the Satio is a crappy phone not worth the money. It's not entirely true. I believe that many people that have bought the Satio, like myself, expected a phone very similar to the previous SonyEricsson phone, like perhaps the K800i, the K850, the W995, etc, but much better in all aspects, i.e. better camera, bigger display, faster responses, etc. Unfortunately, since Satio is a Symbian phone with very little relationship with "normal" SonyEricsson phones with the A2 operating system, not all parts of the phone are "same, but better", but rather "different, and sometimes better but not always". In many cases, this catergry of mobile phone users, would have been much happier if they bought a U10 Aino instead.
I have not compared the Satio with an Iphone, other than having the Satio and an Iphone 2:nd gen between each other in front of me on a desk and compared the sizes. In functions etc, I suppose you will find the Satio very different from the Iphone. The looks and design is very different also. The Satio, I think, is somewhat more durable, since the front is not made of glass but of some kind of hard plastic, which does not break as easily as th eIphone's front. It's rathe scratch resistant, though, I lost the stylus after about a month and have since then used ball pens or pencils or even wooden toothpicks or chinese chopsticks whenever I have needed more precision that the tip of my finger, and there are no scratches whatsoever yet.
