i just discovered that if you change the sim card you loose the call logs for the sim you removed..............why, I want to keep my call logs no matter what sim I have installed grrrrrrrrrrr

This behavior is not unique to Satio, many other phones does the same. I believe it's for security and privacy reasons. If someone finds your phone and its turned off, and cannot log on due to the PIN, and therefore inserts another SIM, it should not be possible to see what calls you have made.
However, if the first SIM is re-inserted, the call log should reappear IMHO, but I'm not sure that's the case with Satio.
