I just bought the SE 905a phone and following procedure to debrand it..I am having issues debranding it. I dont intend to buy any paid service if possible..

I have donwloaded A2Uploader (I installed the Gordon's Gate Drivers first)

I also downloaded A2 CDA File Generator V1.8 and also installed the Sony-Ericsson Update Service (SEUS).

1) Next, I ran A2 CDA File Generator and Selected the model (C905). (There is no option for C905a here)

2) I selected Americas (cda-number : 1209-4778 and cda-revision : R5A first and then also tried

Western europe cda-number: 1209-4774 and cda-revision:R6A).

3) I generate the "customize_upgrade.xml" file and connected the phone through USB and put the file in the tpapresetcustom folder then disconnected everything, remove the battery and now starting the SEUS Update service. SEUS is detecting the phone and everytime it's telling me that I have the Latest software. I tried different Europe CDA numbers and america CDA as described above but it didn't work.

Do i need to use any other CDA Generator or if someone could give me the CDA number, I could make the xml file and try it.

For some reason I am not able to debrand it.

Please help me out !!

What's your firmware version?

You need to turn on the phone in order to upgrade the CDA version on the phone. After that turn the phone off and go ahead with SEUS.

Btw, I am AT&T USA customer..

Here's the info A2 uploader is emitting when I connect the phone (hold the C button and click the File System tool button)..Is this what you are asking for?

ChipID:E800,EMP protocol:0401

PHONE STATE: "RETAIL"
FLASH CID: 0053
OTP LOCKED:1 CID:53 PAF:1 CERT:RED
LDR:2009-04-21 18:30 1202-0420_DB3210_CS_LOADER_APP_SDRAM_R2A081
LDR CAPS:SYSTEM FLASH GDFS FILESYSTEM TA
LDR:2009-04-21 18:29 1202-0421_DB3210_CS_LOADER_ACC_SDRAM_R2A081
LDR CAPS:SYSTEM FLASH SIGNATURE AUTH

Do you mean to say that before I start the SEUS to read the customize_upgrade.xml file, I need to turn on and off the phone, take the battery out, put it back and then start SEUS. How is the phone going to react to the new xml file at that point?

After you upload the customize_upgrade file, you disconnect the phone from the A2uploader, take out the battery, reinsert it, turn on the phone, wait till it boots up, turn it off and then try to update with SEUS.

Don't forget to take off memory card before use SEUS.
Edit: Use 1202-6123 number for C905a in customize_upgrade.xml

OK, I will try it out..I missed that step. Btw, is 1202-0420 my original CDA Version??, if I need to roll back and go back to original AT&T version? If I put that CDA in the upgrade xml file, it should take me back ??

What region 1202-6123 CDA refers to??

Thanks !

Just generate a new customize file with your original number. It won't do anything else but change the number.

I just found this:

1212-6123-AMERICA-Customized Brazil

OK, so I executed the step i missed and I could debrand it now. Thanks a lot !!!

But when I turned on the wifi and tried to access a webpage, I get following error :

" Communication error. Try again, turn off W-Fi or contact your provider for support"

How do I resolve this?? I am using the same wi-fi connection on my computer and it works..

TIA

It didn't work. Although I notice that when I tried to use the wifi at my office it worked few times and it was giving me errors few times. So was kind of hit and miss..It doesn't work with my home wifi though..I am not completely sure what's the issue here..
