> BIG UPDATE Getting a better deal with O2 simplicity
Bookmark topic
I'm currently on O2 simplicity and I get 600 mins + texts and unlimited texts as my bolt on. With vodafone, I can get the same, but with 500mb or something like that of interent. I have phoned O2 and they're not interested in matching this. They can give me 1400 texts but I want unlimited or 3000 or something like that.
I'm not sure what the signal with vodafone is like at 6th form and would need to buy a sim and check it out. Cant be arsed with moving though tbh. Is there anything I should say to O2?
Thanks

Tell them if thats the way they treat customers then they will keep losing them. Thats disgusting. Why don't these networks ever try to match or even beat a rival network in a bid to keep customers? If thats the way they are treating existing customers then its not good. Just ask them for your pac code if they won't match it threaten to leave. What ever happened to some healthy competition.

I read somewhere that O2 stopped doing retentions deals? Maybe wrong though so it's worth giving them a call.
Managed to get a C905, 600 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited web for £20 a month (18m contract) around a year ago when I told them that 3 had offered me a similar deal

Well I shall buy a voda sim and see what the signal is like first and then try retentions

I just send texts without thinking, I'm apparently averaging 1100 a month so I may be sending 1500 one month and 800 the next. I think unlimited texts it's safer, or 3000, something like that. And also they should match the deal. But they're not interested. A few months ago I asked about a tocco ultra and the best they could do was 45 a month. Orange offered me 20 a month. Do they not look at the competition? Tbh, it's worth having a branded phone to get it so much cheaper than to bugger around with O2. You can always debrand anyway. If I could get a decent signal with orange where I lived I would move to them.

Got a voda sim. Parked outside 6th form as it's 2 mins drive from town. Full bars plus HSDPA. Better signal at my house than O2. Just one final check of 6th form on monday and then if the signal is good I will be moving to vodafone.
