Don't get too carried away by this news, It's definitely a good thing but it's still a long way from seeing custom firmware. Although the core is now open source there are a whole host of other things, hardware drivers for example, that are not open that SE, Nokia, Samsung et al have to add to create a finished firmware. Even if/when we get some customised builds someone still needs to figure out how to actually flash them onto our phones. It's definitely doable but it's not quite here yet.

Since satio is the only symbian device without equalizer i very much doubt that someone will make one or other missing functions to incorporate on satio music player. Its more likely they develop more and better music players applications. For exemple i believe LCG jukebox can improve more from now on (in user frindlyness and audio quality).
Nontheless this are very good news especially for the upcoming devices later this year
