The 40-year-old designer committed suicide just a week after his mother died. He was found hanged in his luxury flat in central London.

Its terrible that someone so young and so talented could do something like this to themselves but obviously the death of his mother was just too much for him to handle goes to show that money and fame can't buy happiness

I guess this also marks the first celebrity death of 2010

I guess you have to be a follower of fashion to really know who Alexander McQueen was but i for one have known him for quite a few years now he's also received a knighthood from the queen so very well recognised
