Hi,

Basically my K850i, has always remembered the time + date when I've removed the battery for a short period of time. However recently this no longer work, which is really annoying.

I don't know how it used to remember it, but is it a capacitor and could this be broken? Or is there a smaller battery inside.

Real time clock says 'ok' but I'm clueless as to what that means!

The small battery on the mother board of your phone is gone. It happens very rarely, but I have the same problem and I got used to it. I don't spend time to set the date and clock any more, when I buy X10, I'm going to junk my W910 in the rubbishbin.

why don't you try to set the Auto time zone to On, your phone clock will then shows the right time and date according to your provider clock settings by the time you turn your phone on and connected to you operator?

Recently my K850i also behaving the same. I have kept auto time zone on, but sometime that also dont work.

Your internal battery will store enought power for around 48hrs. Sometimes less depending on when it was last charged from the main battery. The internal battery only takes a trickle charge from the main one so it could take a while to fully charge again. If its not enough charge in then this will cause your time and date problems. Fully charge yout main battery and leave iy in the phone for a few days. Use the phone as well or keep the phone turned on and plugged into the mains charger.

Yes thank you all for the advice, I never realised that you can just turn Auto time zone and it updates it. Thanks it's manageable anyway because the K850i obviously you don't have to remove the battery to access the SIM and memory card, it's mainly for when the phone crashes (as 850 loves to do

well said, in my case the time and date sometimes changed after uploading drivers to the phone but again it's manageable...
