I want to know what exactly is the difference between the OS features of these phones? Are they identical OS wise? The N97 home screen seems to have a lot more going in it from the reviews I read.

OS wise yep they are identical, the difference is in the Home Screens. The N97/N97-Mini, have the Live customizable Widget homescreen with 8app shortcuts, whereas the Xpress Music phones (5230,5530,5800 and X6) have the 'Contacts Bar' homescreen that has the Contacts, Email and Music Widgets only with app 4app shortcuts.

ok. so do u think the N97 is worth its price over the 5530? I mean the obvious things apart like the 5MP camera and the built quality, but general usage as far as the GUI/OS is concerned. What about the applications for the 5530? I use fringe a lot, how is it with touch screen?

Not realy, overall they are the same thing, outside of the homescreen. Apps that work on N97 will work on 5530xm. I havent used Fring on my 5800xm, but i see there is a S60v5 Beta version out that looks very touch friendly:

I would highly recommend the 5530xm over N97 if you dont require the extras the N97 has.

I had a 5530 previously it is a great phone although i returned it due to missing 3G. Today i seen the cheapest ever Symbian phone. The new 5230 is selling already for £79 at Phones4U

I did through wifi but it asked to be done via PC. Will try that application. Any other good applications I should know of?
one more thing, whenever i try watching a youtube video it opens in my phone's media player, where as in my N85 it opens in the youtube webpage just like on the PC. Is there a way around this? Browser dependent?
