Hi there.
I just bought a SE w705. Em loving it!!!!!!
I am being courious about Instant messaging, also called My Friends in the Messeging menu. It asks for my username and password, that is fine. but then comes the issue. It asks for a server address. I want to know how i can get server address for MSN for example. So that i can use it for my IMs. I have googled a lot but no results. Any idea? have anyone tried it?
I dont like e-buddy etc....
and there is no Java version by MSN yet

Thnx in advance!
SE ROCKS!!!

Just add this proxy server on ur default connection settings (advance settings). imps.msg.yahoo.com

Then goto im menu. Create new.
Server name: ym
Access point in use: default settings
Web address: us.m1.yahoo.com
(or imps.msg.yahoo.com)
User id: your yahoo id
Password: your yahoo password.

Hi, does someone here know how to correctly set up the IM feature of my mobile? I have tried budz's post above but to no avail.

You need a reliable IM host. There was two or three of them a few years back, such as Smartvas but they fell into disuse so it's hard to make use of the embedded IM client as it's simply not supported.

Smartvas used to work like a dream but it just disappeared.

Here is the old thread if you want to look at it.

Was it working on all networks in all countries before, sir? And do you know any other IM hosts that are currently working other than smarvast which as you have said it doesn't work like a charm nowadays?
Anyways, thanks for the info. I truly appreciate your response. More power!:)
