I did an experiment and sacrificed my P1i BST40 battery to put into my Satio

First of all it does not fit in standard format so I stripped the foil wrapping off then the plastic edging and replaced the foil wrapping, it fits but is a tight squeeze mind you but it fits )

guys this was original SE BST40 the foil comes off easy, the black plastic sort of unclips then you can put foil wrapper back on, it works fine, sorry but no pics

I've just done almost the same. Peel the label off and it just about fits. There's a little bulge in the back cover after but it seems to work. I wonder how my BST-40 performs after 2 years on the shelf. If memory serves, the BST-33 is a more reliable battery.
