> Is my C902 outdated?
Bookmark topic
Hello everyone! I heard through the grapevine that this forum was the best for those who own Sony Ericsson phones(the best phones in the WORLD in my opinion at least). However I am having some problems especially with the camera. Before the C902 I had a W580i and I swear that the picture quality was way better on that phone that it is on the C902. Strange right? Also the menus load kind of slow.
Do you think that the firmware I am running is the cause of all this mischief? My current firmware is R3EA038-090301.
Thanks,
Mike

Try to update the firmware. Afaik, the last may be R3EG001 or R3EF
And set pic.quality to fine and turn-off stbilzer.

Be steady with your hands when taking photos. Having had a c902 myself i am guessing your refering to how the pics look on the small screen. The pics do look a little blurred on the small QVGA screen and its not a true reflection on how the pics will look on a pc monitor. If you zoom in to the photos you have already taken you can see more detail. There is no way the w580i photos are better. Any camera phone above 5 mega pixels using a QVGA screen the pictures look poor on. If Sony Ericsson had upped the screen resolution they would look far better. Like on my Samsung Jet's stunning screen. I think its that the pics have more detail than the screen itself. Also with the phone being slow the c902 can be laggy sometimes but with latest firmware its not so bad. Anyway i had same problems with w995 & c903 with blurry pics on screen.

Great! Thank you for your response!
Junz where can I find this latest firmware that you've mentioned? Also should I bother replacing the default camdrives with modified ones like v55.0_SlideshotT_for_c902?

Go to Sony Ericsson site download the software updater to your pc. Follow instructions on installation and from there you can update your phone for free. There are tutorials on here somewhere.

U can flash it offline/manual with a2uploader. Find the tutorial in frimware, software and driver thread in sticky.
For the firmware go to topsony.com or seusers.com and see it in download section.
I hope one day Esato have their own firmware sharing so its make easy to members for download
